More actual than ever… one of the pillars of category management was and is technology development. AI, machine learning apps, robotics, self service stores,..to deliver more relevant 1-1 offers & services.How should manufacturers bring in the ‘consumer’- dimension in this strongly retailer- focused developments? Isn’t it there where true consumer excitment can steer value creation and innovation in a collaborative workspace?Consumer-shopper integrated segmentation, the consumer- shopper journey framework, the shopping missions in an opti- channel revolution are the insight pillars for superior category plans and differentiating joint businessplans.They help resolve much if the non-insight based though negotiations today in times of decreasing buyingpower, but with still at least 50% of consumers having spending indexes well above the market average.How to play this in a positive note?
